      The Zanzibar Club Photos

Photo's from Noel’s May 3, 2003 concert at the Zanzibar Club in Liverpool have been made available for the first time. Just recently the Zanzibar Club bootleg of Gem Archer and Terry Kirkbride accompanying Noel Gallagher surfaced and was made available to several Oasis forums. On a disappointing note, the song Stop the Clocks which had it's world premiere that night was left off the bootleg. The song was never performed again and fans are eagerly waiting to see if it's included on the new Oasis album which finished mixing in L.A. several weeks ago.

Ryan Adams confirmed as Supporting Act on Mini Tour

Ryan Adams has played with an eclectic mix of musicians over the years, ranging from Phil Lesh to Gillian Welch. But, the often erratic musician’s next outing with throw him into an entirely different musical realm: Brit-pop. Adams and his band the Cardinals will play a few shows with Oasis this summer, beginning with an appearance at Seattle's WaMu Theater on August 26. The gig marks Oasis’ first live show in over two years. Adams will also open for Oasis at Vancouver, BC’s GM Place (8/27), Edmonton, AB’s Rexall Place (8/29) and Calgary, AB’a Pengrowth Saddledome (8/30).

While Adams and Oasis may feel a world apart on paper, Adams has covered Oasis’ “Wonderwall” on several occasions. As previously reported, Adams will also appear at Telluride, CO’s Telluride Town Park on June 19.

      Liam Gallagher has parking problems

Even a famous Rock ’n’ Roll Star like Liam Gallagher can’t escape annoying parking problems.

The Oasis frontman and his All Saints missus Nicole have been banned from parking outside their new North London home for the next few weeks.

The pair have been bombarded with parking restrictions due to a neighbour’s building work.

And if letters from the council aren’t enough to make your blood boil — Liam found a note on his Range Rover asking them to make way for the builders.

I wonder if he will lodge a complaint at the next local council meeting — that I’d love to see...

And the Best Beatles Cover goes to.....

U2’s cover of HELTER SKELTER has topped a new online poll of reworked BEATLES songs. The Irish rockers’ rendition of the 1968 track beat Oasis’ cover of I Am The Walrus in the RollingStone.com poll. Joe Cocker’s With A Little Help From My Friends, Across The Universe by Fiona Apple and Aerosmith’s version of Come Together round out the top five.

Counting Crows: Noel Gallagher is a Genius

Counting Crows singer Adam Duritz was speaking to BBC entertainment reporter Mark Savage.

You're coming over to headline the Wireless Festival in UK this year - are you excited?

Oh yeah, that's cool. Headlining in Hyde Park? That's pretty cool.

We made our career in Europe by playing festivals, so I have a lot of love and reverence for those shows.

    What's your favourite festival memory?

In the 1990s, we spent a whole summer where our end of the day ritual was to meet the guys from Gomez at the side of the stage and smoke cigarettes and drink cans of beer and watch Oasis.

Noel Gallagher is a genius. Those songs are great, and they're loud and they're fun. That's a really good way to spend the end of the day.

      Liam Gallagher confronts Video Paparazzi

Known for his violent outbursts and generally antisocial behaviour Liam Gallagher happily posed for pictures with new wife Nicole Appleton after leaving The Hill pub in North London. The pair had just spent the evening celebrating former All Saint’s singer Mel Blatt’s birthday. Married life is clearly suiting Liam whose big shiny white smile said it all. Well that was until he spotted a video camera….

Apparently photos are fine but video’s a big no- no, go figure!

Liam And Nicole Are All Smiles

Liam Gallagher usually bites the heads off snappers.

But there were no growls, just gnashers on a night out in London with new wife Nicole Appleton.

Has he had his teeth whitened? Definitely...Maybe.

When he did speak Liam said the new Oasis album will be out in September.

Oasis and Foo Fighters to Headline Virgin Festival Toronto

Canada's Ultimate Summer Festival is Back for More!

TORONTO, March 25 /CNW/ - The third annual Virgin Festival Toronto is getting ready to rock Toronto Island once more, with the news today that international superstars Foo Fighters and legendary Brit-rockers Oasis will headline Virgin Festival Toronto on September 6 and 7, 2008. Other exciting additions include Bloc Party, Paul Weller, Stereophonics, Wintersleep, Spiritualized, The Weakerthans, Constantines and The Pigeon Detectives.

Currently in the midst of a standing-room-only Canadian arena tour,
international stadium headliners and multiple Grammy Award winners Foo Fighters will close day one. In their first Toronto performance since their 2006 Air Canada Centre show sold out in just an hour, Oasis will take to the stage on September 7 to close day two of the festival.

In its first two years, Virgin Festival Toronto exploded into the biggest rock music festival in Canada, drawing more than 75,000 music lovers and more than 100 world-famous artists (not to mention going through more recyclable beer cups than they could count). More stellar world-famous and up-and-coming
local acts will be added to the lineup as the summer starts to shine.
"The reason why people love Virgin Festival is simple. It's because we love the music, too," said Richard Branson, chairman of the Virgin Group and founder of Virgin Mobile Canada. "When I first started Virgin a huge part of it was inspired by a passion for music. Each year, Virgin Festival Toronto gets bigger and better but is still so authentic. That genuine need to share
and celebrate music runs in everything Virgin does. Coming to Virgin Festival
and seeing fans having the time of their life with their favourite bands -
    there's simply nothing better."
"Teaming up with world-famous heavyweights Oasis and Foo Fighters shows
that Virgin Festival Toronto will totally be the music event of the summer,"
said Andrew Bridge, director of Virgin Festivals. "When we announced last
year's headliners Bjvrk and Smashing Pumpkins it kicked off a buzz that grew
all summer long. This year will be even bigger. That excitement will grow as
we announce more global superstars and shine the light on local acts on the
rise. We've got a lot more up our sleeves for Virgin Festival Toronto, so stay
    tuned."

    And the artists are...

    Foo Fighters

Celebrating their first ever Canadian No.1 album - the Grammy-winning
Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace - not to mention over half a year atop
Canada's rock radio chart, Foo Fighters will bring day one to a triumphant
    close as only they can.

    Oasis

One of the biggest bands to come out of the UK in the past twenty years,
Oasis have to date sold over 50 million albums worldwide, including
1.25 million in Canada alone. Oasis are no strangers to Toronto, indeed it's
one of their most favourite places to play. This will be their 13th live
appearance here since their debut show at Lee's Palace back in October 1994.
Most recently, Oasis has been in Los Angeles recording their 7th studio album
    with producer Dave Sardy.

      More Zanzibar Recordings Released

    Stop the Clocks 101

It was a moment in life which I will never forget, when I first popped that CD in and pressed play, especially after the half decade of torment waiting to hear it. Noel counted it off: "One.. two... three... four," and then there it was. Yes, it was really true, I was listening to "Stop the Clocks" for the first time ever. As other fans learned of my dream being realized, they had questions, such as: "Were your huge expectations met?" and "What do you think of the song?" I will try to answer those questions and others as I share with you a brief glimpse into the song of legend.

The first time you listen to "Stop the Clocks", you may think it is simply a better realized "Who Feels Love?". But, by about the fifth listen, you come to understand that this is a song unlike anything Noel or Oasis has ever done before. It is a song of such depth and complexity that perhaps a thousand listens would be needed to study and appreciate it fully. As one of the press reviews stated, the chords are very well constructed, but "Stop the Clocks" is all about the vocals. Noel effortlessly guides his voice from high notes to low notes and back, weaving a powerful spell on a listener’s ears for four and a half minutes in this live version. Both guitar solos- the short and long- create a psychedelic world for which Oasis fans can come in and play. And of all the songs from my Zanzibar bootleg-- this song is mixed the most perfectly. There is a perfect balance between the acoustic guitar, the vocals, Gem’s backwards guitar, and Terry’s bongos. It has been suggested by some that this song could never live up to the hype which now surrounds it. Well, friends, I have to politely disagree. This is instantly one of the five best Oasis songs of the past decade. Only now can I see so clearly why Noel has taken to such great pains to record the perfect version. Anything less would be unworthy of this classic-to-be. And we can only hope that Noel has done just that, so the world can finally hear this masterpiece.

You will be happy to know that 4 of the 5 songs from Noel’s May 3, 2003 concert at the Zanzibar Club in Liverpool have now been made available to all fans on the Live4ever Forum . These new live versions are so good that you will indeed be listening to them for years to come. The final song, "Stop the Clocks", will remain locked up until a studio track is released. During the past couple of weeks, both offers and threats have come my way from the community of Oasis fans. You can be sure of one thing-- no amount of money, no offer of trading for other rare material, no invasion of my private life, and no level of threats brought forth could cause me to post the song. Also, I have promised not to give away a detailed description of the song, which is why I would never post any of the chords, the lyrics, or a minute by minute analysis of what happens in each part of the song. However, I am happy to tell you what I think of the song, that’s why posted what I did above.

    Note regarding the songs:

For the record, Trent Harrington recorded the gig by standing away from the audience as much as he could, and standing close to one of the speakers. I'm not sure what he used to record it, but it sure sounds good. He said that security was actually checking people at the door that night, patting them down, etc., but he snuck his recorder in one of his boots. Trent now lives in London, but he would prefer not to be contacted. He has entrusted me with the first live performance of "Stop the Clocks", and asked me to share it with the fans immediately upon the release of a studio version of the song.

You're the One That I Want

Noel Gallagher and Jeff Conaway make up after knife fight

The showbiz fight of the year is over. Noel Gallagher and Kenickie from Grease have kissed and made up.

Their feud kicked off backstage at a Marilyn Manson gig in LA, when Kenickie AKA Jeff Conaway, 57, pulled a knife on the Oasis frontman who'd been mocking him.

Trying to stir up more trouble, Russell Brand invited Noel on his radio show and surprised him with a phone call to Kenickie.

But Jeff told Noel: "You need protection growing up in New York.

You need some kind of weapon. There are very dangerous characters on the subway.

"I collect knives. In New York you grow up fighting, it's a big tough city with lots of violence."

He impressed Noel who said: "He's a true T-Bird."

What the F'hell is going on with that love-in?

      Rebel without a cause.......

Bizzarre Lord Noel Gallagher has done his bit for loads of good causes in his time.

But the Oasis rebel’s rumbling tum told him he had to ignore these protestors in London’s Mayfair.

One posed like he’d just launched a javelin.

But it wasn’t enough to throw Noel and his missus Sara Macdonald off the scent as they headed to Scott’s for some posh grub the day after a heavy session.

The couple had got stuck into the hospitality at a pal’s wedding at the weekend.

A night on the tiles was overdue for the couple after Mr Big spent seven weeks polishing off the next Oasis album in LA.

I wonder what the shoe shopping bill was like when he was away...

      True Blue

Liam Gallagher looks like he has finally rid himself of all his rock-star pretensions – by declaring himself a fan of the former boyband Blue.

The Oasis star confessed his love to former Blue star Duncan James at a lavish reception party for London PR couple Niki de Metz and Charlie Lycett.

“He was telling Duncan he was really sorry that Blue were no longer going,” says an onlooker. “He was telling him that his kids love Blue’s music and that they all used to jump around the house singing and dancing to them.”

Liam and his brother Noel were the biggest names at the Landmark Hotel for the glitzy bash, which included dinner, a live performance from Sugababes, and an after party where guests including Duran Duran’s Nick Rhodes, Meera Syal, Angela Griffin and Holly Willoughby got down until 6am.

Liam also appeared to have moved on from his formerly boozy ways.

“Liam didn’t seem like he was drunk at all,” says our source. “He was putting the chef’s hat on Duncan’s head, saying, ‘now that you’re unemployed, you can be my chef for the night’.”

Zanzibar Club Bootleg from 2003 Surfaces

On May 3, 2003, Noel Gallagher took to the stage and performed his historic gig at the Zanzibar club in Liverpool. Prior to the gig, he had taken the opportunity in several radio interviews to promote the greatness of the newly written song “Stop the Clocks.” In the middle of his set list that night, in between performing “Talk Tonight” and “Wonderwall”, and then “Don’t Look Back in Anger” and “Married With Children”, Noel performed the song he had spoken so much about, and a legend was born. Over the years, an audio recording of the Zanzibar concert never surfaced. Some fans even began to doubt that the concert ever took place, or that the song had been performed that night.

L4E has obtained a recording of Wonderwall (*recorded at the Zanzibar club in 2003). Noel can clearly be heard introducing Stop the Clocks on it.
After the song, Noel says: “Thank you... so anyway.” Then Noel plays a chord on the acoustic guitar and utters the words that the crowd will never forget: "This next song is called 'Stop the Clocks.'" During the song, Gem is playing what sounds like backwards guitar with reverb or an echo effect. It's different than the backwards guitar heard in the song "Who Feels Love", but has the same psychedelic feel, with bongo drums being played by Terry.

The Wonderwall file can be downloaded in the Live4ever Forum by clicking HERE

      Interview With Pete Mckee

In a exclusive interview with L4E's contributing UK Editor SCYHO. Sheffield artist Pete Mckee talks about the artwork he has done for Oasis, the 10ft guitar he painted for Gibson Guitartown, meeting Paul Weller, Steve Cradock, Noel & Gem Archer in Weller's studio and more.

Q: How did you get onto painting your cartoons?
A: Out of Necessity, I was skint and I wanted to give my mate a good birthday present.

Q: How did you go about getting Noel Gallagher to see your artwork?
A: I was cheeky and sent him a print, I'm sure he and Liam gets inundated with gifts, so it blew my mind when he got in contact with me.

Q: The 10 Foot Les Paul guitar that you did for Noel for Gibson Guitartown last year was simply superb and went for over £3000 at auction. Do you know who bought it and did it surprise you it went for so much?
A: I believe the Teenage Cancer Trust bought it and I was over the moon that I was able to help raise the money.

    Q. What was it like to have your artwork on display with such great artists as Sir Peter Blake, Gerald Scarff, Rosie Brooks and many others?
A: It' was rather a proud moment to have my guitar stood next to Sir Peter Blake's, though I was more proud that Noel asked me to do the painting in the first place.

Q: Is it true that you caught Paul Weller's eye with the guitar that you did for Noel?
A: I think he was rather taken by it, especially as his was rather plain, but that's just my opinion.
Q: I saw on your website www.petemckee.com that you met Noel & Gem at Paul Weller's studio earlier this year. That must have been a great experience...
A: One of the most serial mornings of my life, It sort of didn't sink in really, as it wasn't planed. You tell yourself that these people are just the same as you but in reality they are the two people who've help play the sound track to my life, so you can't help but feel a little star struck. Paul Weller, Steve Cradock, Noel and Gem are proper gents.

Q: Are there any other musicians that you would like to work with?
A: I'm a massive fan of Edwyn Collins, who suffered a massive stroke a couple of years ago, I'd love to work with him as I have immense respect for him and his work.

Q: Noel must have been thrilled with the work you did for the guitar to let you do a gig poster and limited edition print. Did you pick the gig? And why that one.. And are they going to be a part of a series celebrating some of the bands legendary shows?.
A: Not sure why that one was picked, so your guess is as good as mine on that one, though I can tell you I did about 9 different designs for the poster and that was the one Noel and the lads picked.

Q: Is there a story behind the image of the print?
A: I sort of imagined this fan taking a day trip to Brighton for the gig and have a few hours to spend before the gig, so entertains himself by arising around on a few kids rides.

Q: Have you heard anything positive from the band on the print?
A: I know they like it.

Q: I have seen posts on various Oasis forums and sites for you to do the artwork for the next album. If Noel gave you a call to do ask you to do it, would you take him up on his offer?
A: Like a flippin shot. I'm touched that people have mentioned it. I'd like to think that most Oasis fans could relate to my work as like the band we are all working class kids.

Q: What's your favorite album by Oasis?
A: I'm old school so it's (What's the Story) Morning Glory?

Q: What's your favorite track by Oasis?
A: I'm going to say She's Electric. Because I love the story in that song, it's like how I hope my painting look.

Q: Are there any other projects you are working on at the moment that you can tell us about.?
A: I'm currently painting my little fingers off on a new exhibition called 33 and a 3rd. and is all about music, both watching it, playing it and wearing the clothes. It's in Sheffield and is launched on April 13th at the Forum.

Q: I saw on Wikipedia that you were commissioned by Acme studios to interpret characters from US TV shows The Simpsons, Family Guy and Futurama. How did that come about? And what does it evole?
A: It's still in the pipeline and has been for 12 months now, they must do things differently over their. But I got the job when I exhibited in New York and the guys saw my work there.

Q: Finally did you enjoy the Game between Sheffield Wednesday and United enough a few weeks ago, to do a painting on it?
A: I've done enough Wednesday paintings for the mo' so I shall just bask in the glory.

Noel Gallagher buys guns in LA

Their bouts of brotherly fisticuffs are legendary. But hard-knock Liam Gallagher had better think twice before squaring up to Noel in future - now that his big brother is armed and dangerous...

We can sensationally reveal that 40-year-old Noel - supposedly one of the last true rock 'n' rollers - has been stocking up on guns in LA so that he can follow his country pursuits as a tweed-wearing toff.

Noel, who is in LA recording the next Oasis album, is so excited about his new past-time, he has been texting his pal Tom Meighan - lead singer of Kasabian - to tell him all about it.

A baffled Tom, 27, tells us: "He sent me a text about going shooting in America, and about how scared he was of shooting himself.

"I've not heard from Noel in a while, so as soon as he's finished recording in LA it would be nice to meet up and find out what happened. He was going to get some guns and rifles I think. It was supposed to be a leisurely day out or hobby to get stuck into."

Yet Noel is not the only rocker with aspirations to be an English gent. At last month's Brits the Arctic Monkeys turned up in country attire, all breaches and flat-caps.

And let's not forget who kicked off the craze - 49-year-old Madonna. She and hubby Guy Ritchie used to invite Brad Pitt and Vinnie Jones - who taught her to shoot in the first place - to their estate on the Wiltshire-Dorset border to join them in their, er, country pursuits.

Of course, Noel could just be arming himself for protection incase he has any more run-ins with ageing Grease heroes.

We revealed yesterday how he had a knife pulled on him by Jeff Conaway - aka Kenickie - backstage at a Marilyn Manson gig in LA.

Tom adds: "I heard about that. How mad is that, having Kenickie from Grease pull a knife out on you?"

Grease star pulls a knife on Noel Gallagher

The Gallagher brothers are known to enjoy a good old scrap, but Noel needs to pick his fights a bit more carefully.

When he decided to take the mickey out of ageing Grease star Jeff Conaway - aka Kenickie - the Oasis rocker had a knife pulled on him!

It all kicked off backstage at a Marilyn Manson concert in LA.

Noel and Liam were knocking back absinthe when they were interrupted by Jeff, waving his walking stick.

They should have sussed he was trouble - Jeff, 57, appeared raging in a wheelchair on US TV show Celebrity Rehab, battling addictions to cocaine and alcohol.

    Instead they scoffed.

Noel tells Russell Brand's Radio 2 show: "Kenickie shouted, 'I've had four back operations, you know.' "So I said, 'So get yourself out of that wheelchair then!' "He said, 'I've had four operations but I can still pull a knife on you.' And he pulled out a big blade.

We thought: 'You're going down, Kenickie.'"

Keith Richards finds Oasis Music Tinny

London, March 3 (ANI): English rocker Keith Richards says that he does not like the kind of music modern bands compose.

Launching an attack on bands like Arctic Monkeys and Oasis, the Richards said that he prefers listening to country and blues genres.

The The Rolling Stones star insists that these are the genres that should be on vinyl.

I dont listen to whats going on. I dont like CDs, quite honestly. They sound tinny to me, British tabloid Daily Express quoted him as telling Uncut magazine in an interview about Shine A Light, Martin Scorseses documentary about the band.

Ive not even heard the Arctic Monkeys. I know of them but I dont know anything theyve done. I didnt like Oasis, I didnt like the Sex Pistols, I dont like any of those English rocknroll bands. Theyre all c***, the 64-year-old star said.

The report also suggested that Richards was not keeping track of his rocknroll contemporaries.

When he was asked to comment on the recent Led Zeppelin reunion concert, Richards said: They had one? Well, well done, Jimmy and Robert. (ANI)

Noel Gallagher on Russel Brand's Cast Wishlist

His hit Booky Wook is being brought to beastly life on the big screen - and Russell Brand fancies Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe to take the lead role!

He thought the boy wizard actor could portray his life as a sex and drugs addict.

Russ told us: "I originally wanted to get an actor to play me and toyed with the idea of Daniel Radcliffe.

"But I thought he wouldn't be able to take all the drink.

"Or the drugs or fraternising with women. So I thought I should do it."

However Russ has got Oasis rocker Noel Gallagher on board - playing an insatiable homosexual!

We met up with the comic in Hollywood where he told us: "I'm coming back in the summer to do the filming.

"Noel Gallagher will be in there, playing a seedy homosexual. He'll be a sexually androgynous, amorphous character - it'll be mad.

"I was speaking to him about it yesterday, and hopefully it'll be great."

St Trinian's star Russell, 32, has told producer Michael Winterbottom - who made 24 Hour Party People - that he will stop at nothing to get Noel, Daniel, David Walliams and TV's Michael Palin.

Russ continued: "Michael has said really nice things about me so I'm hoping he'll play a character in it - a vindictive headmaster.

"David will be playing himself as my love rival.

We're told that Noel and David have provisionally agreed to appear but Michael and Daniel have yet to get aboard.

Russell, who is in LA working on a movie with Adam Sandler, said he had his casting couch ready. "I'm going to hand-pick the ladies," he said.

"It is difficult doing those sex scenes though - it's very awkward. I feel like I really ought to put on a gold medal display of sexual moves."

    Sounds like he can't flop...

Liam Gallagher scared of the dark?

    Scared Liam's glow job

Singer Liam Gallagher has had glow tape put in his house - because he fears it is haunted.

The Oasis star, 35, has been having trouble sleeping in the dark.

And now the frontman, who once claimed he saw John Lennon's ghost, has splashed out on hi-tech light strips so he can see any ghouls roaming around.

The plush London pad he shares with wife Nicole Gallagher, 33 and their son Gene, six, is now illuminated by the funky strips used in casinos and discos.

A pal of the rock wildman told the Daily Star Sunday: "Liam has a bit of trouble sleeping because he's convinced his house is haunted.

    Chill

"He's heard footsteps going up and down the stairs and sometimes feels a chill pass over his body in the night.

"He's been keeping the lights on but it's difficult to sleep in bright light and he doesn't want to look like a big girl's blouse so he's bought these funky light strips.

"The light is more then a glow than anything else.

    "He's buzzing with them".

      Oasis Adore Sven Eriksson

LIAM and NOEL GALLAGHER have done their first interview together in more than a year – praising new Manchester City boss SVEN GORAN ERIKSSON for transforming their beloved team this season.

Liam said: “Sven’s a legend” while Bizarre Lord Noel added: “I think history will see he was a good manager for England and it was the players who weren’t up to standard.

“I love him, though. He’s a ladies’ man, isn’t he?”

Liam added: “I never thought I’d kiss his head but when I see him, I’m gonna kiss his bald little head.”

Noel said: “He looks like Mr Burns from The Simpsons. He’s a silver fox. He’s always in the papers, romping with some bird.” Liam chipped in: “He’s Swedish though. They’re always up to something.”

Liam, Noel and guitarist GEM ARCHER gave an interview to Sex Pistols’ legend STEVE JONES on his show Jonesy’s Jukebox in LA on Thursday.

Noel added: “We’re mixing our new record. We recorded it in Abbey Road just before Christmas. We did two tracks in Abbey Road in ’97 but they kicked us out as we were a bit mental back then.

“We were in one of the studios listening back to one of the tunes and somebody who was mixing a classical record next door tapped on the studio and asked us to turn it down.

“There might have been swear words and the next thing was, ‘You can leave’ ” Liam said: “It’s been going slow because the gear keeps breaking.”

The equipment that is, not the marching powder. Noel has extended the band’s stay by three weeks as technical problems have delayed them.

But Liam added: “I’m rocking on it. I’m ’aving it.”

It’s a shame the A-Team have been in LA. The Brits and the NME Awards were crying out for their antics.
