The Oasis brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher have always been a little… competitive? But with the release of Noel’s solo single this week, MTV News caught up with Liam and his band Beady Eye to talk about music, touring… and of course, his infamous sibling.
Beady Eye (which is made up of all members from Oasis, minus Noel) made their first appearance as a band in Glasgow in March, we asked the band what that experience was like.
“Yeah, I think you shit. But as soon as you get onstage, you’re not [nervous] through the whole gig, as soon as your guitar starts and you dodge your first couple bottles [you’re fine]… then you can start showing off” joked Liam
The band’s new album is called Different Gear, Still Speeding which some believe is a reference to the absense of his brother who left Oasis in 2009 and left a message on the bands official site claiming he was “bullied” out of the group.
We asked the band if they saw the statement, or how that experience played out.
Liam said: “I see it [the statement] everyday when I wake up… I just know he lies. Noel wasn’t bullied out of the band. And then he writes a statement like that saying ‘Oh, I’ve been bullied out of the band’ and management and all that, and two days later, the people he reckons bullied him, and the people that weren’t listening to his little sob story, were around at his house having tea on his lawn. I’m just disappointed for him, and his fans…. I have my days [bad days] but Noel Gallagher can be a little b*tch when he wants to be”
We reminded the guys that when Oasis fuirst started they said they wanted to be the “biggest, best band in the world”. We asked what they hoped for Beady Eye.
“Same thing. Without a doubt. Do you want a band to be second best?”
Noel Gallagher on New Band: "They’re a collective more than a band"
The Oasis legend has compared the wrench of leaving the band behind him and kicking off his solo career to giving up drugs.
Noel Gallagher is now fronting his new project Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds after quitting Oasis and admits there is less pressure on the band members. Speaking about his new group in Q Magazine, Noel says: “They’re a collective more than a band. Anyone can join and anyone can leave.
“I was sat in bed one night before I got my band together. I said to my wife, ‘It’s just dawned on me, I’ve got to find five other people. I won’t know their wives or girlfriends or mates and I’ve got to share a tour bus with them. It’s like giving up drugs and moving on to a new circle of friends.”
And it seems finding the right people for his “collective” proved to be something of a dilemma. Noel adds: “I had two options, you either get a load of kids in and then you end up looking like Bryan Ferry. Or you don’t and you have mates – but then I don’t know many 44-year-olds that aren’t bald. But it fell in to place nicely. It’s the noble thing to do. Bands are for the young.”

Being the star attraction in his band also proved to be a stumbling block for Noel. He reminisced about the days of Oasis when he could blend in to the background.
“I’ve been in a band with a great front man and I was a great guitarist and backing vocalist who chirped in with the odd funny quip. It was perfect. This is just a major pain in the b*******. But I’m getting used to the idea.”

Noel Gallagher Finds His Unfinished Tracks On YouTube

Noel Gallagher has vowed to join the digital age and learn about modern technology after discovering fans were finishing his half-written songs and posting them online.
The former Oasis star likes to work on ideas for new tracks during concert soundchecks, and he had no idea onlookers were secretly recording him.
He later found out the bootleg tapes of his embryonic songs had been posted on YouTube.com - and was stunned to see fans had been completing the tracks for him.
Gallagher tells Mojo magazine, "Some were written on the last (Oasis) tour, when I used to feel them out by getting my acoustic guitar and strumming them after soundcheck, because you sound like Jesus in a big arena. A year later someone comes up to me and says: 'Have you got a song called If I Had A Gun?'. (I said) 'Yes... why?' There wasn't even a demo of this.
"Turns out some kids have been taping the soundchecks on mobile phones and posting them up on the internet. I haven't got a computer and I'm completely oblivious to it all, so I check it out and there are kids on YouTube finishing them off! I'm thinking, 'They're covering my songs before I've written them?'. I need to keep an eye on this s**t."
Noel Gallagher's first solo single "The Death of You and Me" finds the former Oasis songwriter stepping only just a tiny bit outside of his comfort zone. While the chords and melody are about what you might expect from Gallagher, he pushes himself to the top of his vocal range on the verses for an effect that's not far off from Chris Martin from Coldplay's "falsetto note at the end of every line" trick. The grim quasi-Western tone is somewhat new for Gallagher too, but by the time the chorus hits, it's just a dimmer version of Oasis' big sunny hooks.
Noel Gallagaher: Going Solo is Major Pain in the B#llocks
Noel Gallagher has admitted that he found it hard starting a solo career.
The former Oasis member revealed that following the band's split in 2009, he hated the idea of starting from square one again at age 42.
"I was at a party two summers ago, when Oasis had split, and Richard Ashcroft was there. He said, 'I bet it's a relief'. I said, 'No, actually it's a f**king pain in the arse'," he told Q magazine.
"[Ashcroft] said, 'I remember The Verve, when I left it was relief'. I said, 'I don't give a f**k about The Verve. I've got to start again from scratch'."
Gallagher continued: "I was 42 at the time. I'm not a frontman, now I have to be the guy up front giving it all the jazz hands.
"I've been with a band with a great frontman, and I was a great guitarist and backing vocalist who chirped in with the odd funny quip. It was perfect."
He added: "This is just a major pain in the b*llocks. But I'm getting used to the idea."
Noel Gallagher's First Solo Music Video Becomes Viral Hit
The video for the new single from former Oasis frontman Noel Gallagher has accumulated over 253,000 views in 24 hours, currently making it the tenth most watched video on July 26.
The video titled "Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds - The Death of You and Me" debuted on YouTube on July 25 and as of 10:45 GMT July 26 had attracted 253,772 views and was ranked tenth in YouTube's "most watched today" chart.
"The Death of You and Me" is the first single from Noel Gallagher's new album Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, which will be available on October 17.
Following the breakup of Oasis, Noel's brother, singer Liam Gallagher also chose to continue his music career by forming the band Beady Eye, which incorporated former bandmates Andy Bell, Gem Archer and Chris Sharrock.
Noel Gallagher says someone needs to "waft" his brother Liam with a "wet towel" if he thinks he can eclipse Oasis' success.
The 'Death of You and Me' singer has scoffed at his estranged sibling's boasts his new band, Beady Eye, could become bigger than the super-group they were in together.
When asked what he felt about Liam's comments his new band will be more successful than Oasis, Noel told Q magazine: "Someone needs to lie Liam down and waft him with a wet towel."
The 44-year-old guitarist quit Oasis in August 2009 following a huge backstage fight with Liam, who Noel claims tried to take his "face off" with a guitar during the bust-up.
Despite the turbulent atmosphere in his former band, Noel admits he does "miss" certain things about the group, and says he didn't find it easy choosing which musicians to work with on his new project Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds.
The musician - who is releasing his solo album of the same name in October - explained: "I had two options: you either get a load of kids in, and then you end up looking like Bryan Ferry. In the 16-page MOJO exclusive Will Hodgkinson speaks to the former Oasis songwriter about his return to recording, his new album, the end of his old band, that fateful night in Paris and the essential films, books and music that define the man.
These are the films, and the reason Noel picked them.
THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY (1966)
"There's a great scene when Clint Eastwood's character leaves Tuco (El Wallach), the little guy to die in the desert. Tuco gets a gun and follows him through the desert, picking up his cigar stubs to keep track. It's epic, brilliantly written, the story is great, and they all end up in a graveyard in a three-way shoot off. It looks good as well, Clint Eastwood wears three outfits in the entire film and I'd were them all. I'd save the poncho for Glastonbury".
PULP FICTION (1994)
"There are so many great moments of great dialogue in that film. The sign of great art is what happens afterwards, and this film changed everything. Even the black suit and the black tie look came back in, and before that only waiters wore it. The beginning is the end, but you don't realise at first".
STAR WARS (1977)
"Not the silly edition with the f**king dinosaurs in it, the original. I was ten when this came out, and I still believe that galaxy is going on somewhere, a long, long time ago and far, far away. And even now it looks state of the art. You know it's a big guy from Cornwall in a furry gorilla suit, but it doesn't really matter. It deals with the most basic premise of good vs evil and someone got to rescue the girl, but you've got to admire someone with the vision to invent an entire language. It blew my mind, and I can't wait for it to blow my son's mind. Then I'll be able to say to him "wait until you find out who his Luke Skywalker's Dad is". That will bend his head. Fuck Blade Runner. "This is the story of the last days of Hilter, and I love the black nihilism of it all. They're all staying to the bitter end, and it is the end of their world. We've been in the end of relationships, the end of tours, and the end of bands. But they know this is the end of their entire way of life and they're all going to die. They are dead. Best of all is the YouTube parody in which Hitler's going mad because Oasis have split up and he had tickets to the concert."
British rocker Noel Gallagher planned to launch his solo career with three new albums - but he abandoned the idea after becoming "sick" of writing new tracks.
The former Oasis guitarist hit a creative peak as he penned new songs following the band's breakup in 2009, and announced earlier this month (Jul11) he is to release two albums - a solo record and a collaboration with British psychedelic duo Amorphous Androgynous.
Now he's revealed he had enough new material to put out a third record, titled The Future Of Martial Arts, but gave up the plan because he was tired of songwriting.
Gallagher tells Q magazine, "Now I'm a free agent I thought I've got all these songs, so I'll make two records - but between you and me I made three, the third was going to be called The Future Of Martial Arts. I had nine great songs but had to split them up. I wanted to do some work with Amorphous Androgynous... so I made the albums concurrently. It was really exciting being that creative, but by the end I was sick of it."

“Let battle commence,” the assembled journalists in London were told. So went the first meaningful sentence uttered in public by Noel Gallagher since his 2008-2009 tour diary abruptly ended with the announcement of his departure from one of Britain’s biggest and most influential bands.
The official website which had previously been hosting a light-hearted look at life on the road was now instead telling a horror story to millions of fans, and as they digested the news, Noel Gallagher retreated into the shadows.
The ‘battle’ is one Noel knows all too well and one which, two years and one new child on, he will no doubt be asked to fight once again over the coming months; for everyone ready to declare the man the greatest songwriter of his generation, they’ll be another immediately picking apart every chord progression to discover which particular mine this new stone has been dug from. In actuality, when he did re-emerge, the aforementioned press conference remained a low key affair, but it would take a brave man to bet that state of affairs continuing. Whatever happens, the reaction since has proved the world is still listening, and still ready to pass judgement.
MOJO: First In Depth Interview With Noel Gallagher on New Album

He's a big fan of Neil Young and Donovan - and Noel's first track is worthy of being mentioned beside those legends. It's nothing fancy or too intricate, just classic Noel songwriting - coupled with an unexpected brass section.
Who saw that twist coming?
Considering he smokes and drinks, his voice sounds more youthful than ever.
It is closer in style to more recent Oasis tracks such as The Importance Of Being Idle from Don't Believe The Truth and (Get Off Your) High Horse Lady on Dig Out Your Soul.
Lyrically, he's come up with more memorable lines and imagery about "storm clouds" soaking up his soul.
It is a pearler and could even attract fans who wouldn't brave the flying pints of p*** at Oasis gigs.
It has already been A-listed on Radio 2 four weeks before release - and that rarely happens. Xfm, 6 Music and Absolute are all thumping for it too.
The video is ace. Filmed in the desert outside LA, with a stunning blonde waitress he pushes into a pool.

Noel Gallagher Recognizes Half of the Tracks on Beady Eye Album
The warring brothers reignited their war-of-words earlier this month when Noel accused Liam of sparking the break up of Oasis by demanding to advertise his Pretty Green fashion line in the band's tour programs.
The Beady Eye frontman hit back, insisting he never discussed his clothing venture with his brother, and Noel has now taken another swipe at his sibling, accusing Liam of filling his new band's album with leftover Oasis songs.
Responding to his brother's claims he deliberately held back two of their former band's tracks for his own upcoming solo album, Noel tells Britain's NME magazine, "Well, Liam talks a lot, doesn't he?... Unfortunately for Liam, he's a born liar. Those songs have been recorded on two separate occasions, for two different albums, and vocals were never completed.
"I've re-recorded them in a different key, to suit my voice. They're the two most Oasis sounding songs on the album. But whatever he says is bulls**t."
Asked about songs on Beady Eye's debut album Different Gear, Still Speeding, he says, "I remember playing drums on a version of The Roller. I've always liked that song. So there's a version of that with me on it somewhere in the vaults. The Morning Son has been around for the best part of five years.
"I'd heard a few of those tunes before... I'd say whatever songs are on there, I'd say half I recognize the titles of... Millionaire was gonna be on the last record... The Roller, yeah, I always thought was gonna be a f**king mega, mega hit for Oasis but it never got past the demo stage."
Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds have confirmed the release on August 21st of their first ever single - 'The Death Of You And Me' - on Noel's Sour Mash Records label.
Noel announced The High Flying Birds recently at his press conference. He told us, 'My manager asked me who the High Flying Birds are. They aren't anyone in particular. Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds is me and whoever is around at the time of whatever it is that I'm doing, a loose collective kinda thing.'
'The Death Of You And Me' will be the first new material released by Noel Gallagher for three years.

Beady Eye Site Releases New Andy Bell Mix: Drifting
To celebrate the release of the Beady Eye's new single Andy Bell has very kindly given the official website two exclusive mixes on the newly created 'Mixes' page.
Last week they unveiled Andy's 'I'm Coming Up!' mix, the first of two to mark the release of 'The Beat Goes On'.The second of the mixes is titled 'Drifting'.
Andy has told the official Beady Eye site that he's particularly pleased with this mix and describes it as 'Morning-after music'. It features acts such as Scott Walker, Jimi Hendrix and some classic Peter Green-era Fleetwood Mac.
Beady Eye have added another date to their North American tour in November and December.
It will mark the band's return to North America following their recent sold out gigs and performance on the 'Late Show with David Letterman'.

Beady Eye have announced they will be performing at Zurich's Volkshaus venue on 11th October as part of their European tour this autumn. It will mark the band's second performance in the country following their appearance yesterday at the Gurten Festival in Berne.

In the 1990s, megahits like "Wonderwall" and "Champagne Supernova" made Oasis the most popular band of the Britpop era. Meanwhile, the group was plagued by disputes between its famously contentious leaders, brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher. Beady Eye have covered the Elvis classic 'Blue Moon' to help launch the new Manchester City football kit made by Umbro.
The new kit features a soundwave graphic across the front which was taken from a 19 second recording of the club's fans singing 'Blue Moon'.
Liam said, "I've been a City fan since I was a kid so to be involved with the launch of a new kit is colossal. Manchester City fans are known for having a lot of style and the new shirt looks mega. I love the soundwave idea and the Mod-inspired collar looks proper smart.
'Blue Moon is a top tune and has been City's song for as long as I can remember. It's been covered by loads of people but the only good one until now was the one Elvis did. I hope the fans buzz off our version and sing along to it at the stadium.'
To celebrate the launch Beady Eye have joined up with director Charlie Lightening to record a video for their version of 'Blue Moon' which segues into their new single 'The Beat Goes On'.
Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds To Tour In Autumn, In Support Of Album Release
July 14, 2011 - At a press conference in London last week, NOEL GALLAGHER officially announced the release of his first solo album project since the split in 2009 of the mega-platinum UK band Oasis. NOEL GALLAGHER'S HIGH FLYING BIRDS, the album eponymously named for Noel's current working band, will be released on November 8th in the U.S., on Sour Mash/Mercury Records.
Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds will tour this autumn in support of the album, dates to be announced in the months ahead. At the press conference, Noel stated that the band would be performing classic Oasis tracks along with his new solo material. "I'm proud of them and of what they mean to people," he said of the Oasis repertoire. "I'll never do a gig without playing them. They're like drugs to me."

Review: Somerset House - They May Not Be Oasis , But....
After Liam Gallagher recently claimed brother Noel was "breaking his heart" over the "absolute s**t" the former Oasis member had been spreading about the break-up of the Britpop kings. One half expected the 38-year-old front man, now leading the ‘diet Oasis' spin-off band Beady Eye (also consisting of ex-band members Andy Bell, Gem Archer, Chris Sharrock and former Gorillaz guitarist Jeff Wootton), to come out all guns blazing. And although there were several put downs to the exiled sibling, this was a performance that was all about Liam's new band, not his past glories.
Opening with the barnstorming ‘Four Letter Word', Liam immediately rediscovered his iconic swagger and even openly joked with the audience, giving nods to Italian tourists and unable to resist the occasional pop at his older brother and former band mate.
‘Bring the Light' was the outstanding performance of the night, finding an upbeat Liam on his best form. The rattling piano backing and booming guitar accompaniment rocked the crowd to its core in the stunning Somerset House backdrop.
Not every tune was executed as successfully. ‘Beatles and Stones' and ‘Millionaire' seemed to get lost in the surroundings, with Gallagher's signature Manc drone sounding like a rusty monotonous freight train, swallowing up the lyrics, which in no way could be deciphered amongst the more casual Beady Eye fan.
That said, it is another successful addition to a growing body of live work by the seasoned veterans. They may not be Oasis, but they still know how to rock ‘n' roll.
I felt a strange sensation at the press conference for Noel Gallagher’s solo album last week: anticipation. It’s a feeling I’ve not associated with the Gallaghers for, ooh… [checks watch]… 16 years now, although they’ve awoken plenty of other emotions, from impotent rage, through glazed frustration, to icy despair.
I just hope Noel realises how much is riding on ‘High Flying Birds’. If he cocks this one up, I’m walking away, faster than a fucking cannonball. How about you?
Oasis were national treasures. To criticise them feels unpatriotic, like tipping Stephen Hawking out of his wheelchair or wiping your arse on the Magna Carta. Circa 1994, Noel Gallagher’s songs genuinely changed British culture, but when was the last time you heard a new Oasis track, jammed your headphones into a mate’s ears and told them in a reverential whisper: “just listen to this…”?
To me, it feels like Noel stopped pushing himself from the moment he exchanged on Supernova Heights. It’s understandable. Slacking off is human nature in any profession. Who hasn’t nodded dilligently when the boss says, “I’m just nipping out to the post office…”, then recreated The Dam Busters on the fire escape with watercooler bottles? Trouble is, Noel’s placed too much importance on being idle: his lunch hour office dickabout has lasted over a decade.
In the context of Oasis, the faithful will always back Noel, like indulgent mothers or lower-league football fans, always predicting a return to form, even faced with ‘High Horse Lady’. But Oasis is over, and that’s why ‘High Flying Birds’ is so important. For the first time in years, Britain’s greatest modern songwriter has something to prove, maybe even something to say. I have faith he’ll deliver. This album feels like the shackles are off and the chippy dreamer from ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll Star’ is back, slogging his way up on the club circuit, close enough to see the boredom on the front row’s faces if he plays a dud. That’s got to be healthy.
There’s another factor of course: Liam. Everyone says the Gallaghers can’t function apart, but I’d argue the opposite: their much-touted chemistry became a tedious millstone towards the end. Without Liam to keep things neanderthal, Noel might explore the more avant-garde side of his writing – see his Chemical Brothers hook-ups – rather than mine the same three-chord furrow that meant all late-period Oasis tunes sounded like ‘Roll With It’’s sickly, withered cousins. Granted, Beady Eye’s ‘Different Gear, Still Speeding’ is not so much a gauntlet being thrown down as a sock full of custard, but Noel will surely want to knock it out of the park.
Noel Gallagher is always most dangerous when he’s up against the wall. ‘High Flying Birds’ is his chance to come out shooting, and blow away the young pretenders with his songs, rather than sarky put-downs in magazine interviews. Prove me right, Guv’nor…
Liam: "...There's Two People to Blame for Oasis Splitting Up..."
Liam Gallagher hit out at brother Noel Gallagher at Beady Eye's concert at Somerset House in London last night (12.07.11) mocking the guitarist's recent claims about why Oasis ended.
The rocker was performing with his band as part of the Somerset House Summer Series, and used the gig to attack his sibling, who has enraged him by blaming him for the demise of Oasis.
Noel claimed their relationship began to deteriorate after he refused the singer's request to advertise his Pretty Green clothing label in the Oasis tour programme and culminated with 'The Roller' hitmaker attacking him with a guitar backstage before a festival appearance in Paris in August 2009.
Before introducing the track 'Man of Misery' last night, Liam asked the crowd: "Have we got any Pretty Green in the house? Or are we not allowed to speak about Pretty Green?"
Earlier in the set during 'Beatles and Stones' he also changed the lyrics to "I can't be bought and sold - like some people" and made a hand gesture which seemingly was a reference to his brother's height.
And on the track 'The Morning Son' - which was written by Liam and is widely believed to be about Noel - he changed the lyrics from "you're blinded by what you idolise" to "you're blinded by what f***ing lies".
Earlier this week, the 38-year-old singer accused the guitarist of lying about what happened on the final Oasis tour and admitted the 44-year-old songwriter was "breaking his heart" with his accusations.
Liam said: "Them words, Pretty Green, have never come out of my mouth [to] Noel Gallagher. Ever. So all this about him saying I tried to get Pretty Green in an advertisement or Oasis tour programme is absolute s**t, saying it's the demise of Oasis, I'm not having it.
"He needs to know there's two people to blame for Oasis splitting up and one of them is sitting here right now talking, and the other one's Noel Gallagher. He's breaking my heart."
Beady Eye - which also features Andy Bell, Gem Archer, Chris Sharrock and Jeff Wooton - thrilled the crowd with their set, finishing with an encore of 'Wigwam' and their traditional closing cover of World of Twist's 'Sons of the Stage'.
The band's performance was witnessed by some famous faces including Paul Weller and 'The Inbetweeners' star James Buckley.
Beady Eye have announced they will be heading back to Germany in October as part of their forthcoming European tour.

Liam Gallagher Heartbroken Over 'Oasis Split Lies' by Brother Noel
Liam Gallagher has accused his brother Noel of telling "lies" about the reasons for his decision to quit Oasis – and revealed that the false accusations were "breaking [his] heart."
In an interview with BBC Radio 1 the Beady Eye singer admitted that he’d contributed to Oasis’s split in 2009, but insisted that Noel’s claims that he had faked a bout of laryngitis to get out of a scheduled performance at V festival, and that the pair had fallen out over his clothing label Pretty Green, were made up "to get brownie points."
Last week (July 6), Noel revealed details about his first solo LP ‘Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds’, which will be released on October 17. He went on to tell reporters at the press conference that Liam had "wielded a guitar like an axe" and "nearly took his face off" backstage at the Rock En Seine festival in Paris in 2009.
He also claimed that the band’s split had been due to Liam’s wish to put an advert for his clothing range Pretty Green in their tour programme, and said that while the singer had cited having laryngitis for cancelling their slot at 2009’s V Festival, the real reason was that he had a hangover.
However, Liam – who posted a tweet simply reading "SHITBAG" after Noel’s announcement – said: "In my opinion – he’s a control freak. He’s making up lies to get brownie points."
"I got diagnosed with laryngitis for the V Festival – I wasn’t hungover. I do gigs when I’ve been hungover. I’m a big boy. I’m not going to cancel a gig because I’ve got a headache."
He went on to add: "It’s time he [Noel] woke up. He’s no angel. I’m partly to blame but I’m not solely to blame. People need to know that it wasn’t just me who split the band up, it was Noel too."

Beady Eye frontman Liam Gallagher is monkeying around again, doing a great impression of an ape on stage.
The former Oasis singer pulled this pose performing at Oxegen 2011, Ireland's biggest music festival.
Sporting a green jacket and faded denim jeans, as well as his trademark shaggy hairdo, the singer crouched down on stage.
Rocker Liam recently confessed that he's given up the sauce, and has a new favourite drink - ginger ale.
He said: "I haven't had a drink since New Year's Eve. I'm having a bit of a break. I went 20 years drinking and messing about. It's rubbish.
"At Knebworth I thought we were doing one night and we were doing two. I got that mashed on the first I woke up to a knock on the door and thought I was at home. I forgot all about it. But I had to go and do it again. That was heavy."
But despite ditching the grog, Liam still hasn't ended his feud with older brother and ex-bandmate Noel.
He admitted the rift is so deep he wasn't even invited to Noel's wedding to Sara McDonald last month.
Liam said: "I wouldn't have gone anyway. I was busy. If I had I'd have had a drink and it would have gone pear-shaped. It would've been like Dynasty."
Liam Gallagher Dedicates 'Bring the Light' to Noel at Festival
Liam Gallagher hit back at brother and former Oasis bandmate Noel during Beady Eye's set at Spain's Bilbao BBK last night (July 7), dedicating a song to his estranged brother.
After playing 'The Roller' Liam announced: "This is for the one and only Noel Gallagher", before launching into 'Bring The Light'.
'Bring The Light', which was the first track Beady Eye released, in November 2010, features confrontational lyrics such as, "I see no point in what you're thinking", and "I'm standing tall, well fucking tough."
The sarcastic dedication comes in a tumultuous week for the pair, which has seen Noel announce two solo albums and reveal why he quit Oasis. By way of response, Liam took to Twitter to post a one word response: "SHITBAG".
For the rest of the gig Liam was in gregarious mood, dedicating other songs to female members of the audience and signing autographs in the pit before leaving the stage.
Noel Gallagher's upcoming solo album 'High Flying Birds' will feature a track the former Oasis songwriter has been working on for over 10 years.
Gallagher announced details of the album at a press conference on July 6. To the delight of long-standing Oasis fans, the tracklisting includes ‘Stop The Clocks’ which was originally written in 2001, and was set to appear on the band's sixth studio album 'Don't Believe The Truth' in 2004.
The song was talked up by Oasis as being one of their greatest ever but was eventually removed from the final track listing. It also failed to appear on their greatest hits compilation of the same name.
Gallagher is thought to have agonised over the track for a decade, constantly rewriting it to get the song just right. In 2006, the band spoke to The Sun after a fan asked them what had happened to 'Stop The Clocks'.
Gallagher said: “There are about ten different versions and I can’t decide on which one. It’s a good song, the lyrics are great."
Former bandmate Andy Bell also raved about it in the interview, saying: “It is an amazing tune. It has quite a heavy theme to it and we’ve had a few goes at it. We’ll get it right one day.”
This week Noel Gallagher announced details of two new solo albums.
'Stop The Clocks' will appear on the first collection, called 'Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds', which is due for release on October 17. It features ten new songs and was produced by Gallagher and Dave Sardy.

The songwriter has revealed he began work on the hotly anticipated LP on February 16 2010 and it was a momentous night because not only did he discover Sara MacDonald - who he married last month - was expecting their now nine-month-old Sonny - but his former band Oasis were also awarded the Best BRITs Album of 30 Years for their LP '(What's the Story) Morning Glory?', which his brother Liam collected.
Speaking at a press conference in London to announce two solo albums - 'Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds' and an as-yet untitled companion LP - yesterday (06.07.11), he said: "I started the night of the BRITs when we won best album of the last hundred years, or whatever ... I was in the studio that night. That was a momentous night, because the wife phoned me up and told me she was pregnant and that was the first night we were recording the album."
Noel - who quit Oasis after having a huge fight with Liam before a Paris concert in August 2009 - admits he could have released his albums earlier if he hadn't had so much time off this year.
The 'Don't Look Back In Anger' singer - who also has a three-year-old son Donovan, with Sara and an 11-year-old daughter Anais from his first marriage to Meg Matthews - added: "I seem to have a lot of time off, we (me and Sarah) got married, had another kid, but it was nice not to have to work to a deadline which is the first time I've ever done that for as long as I can remember. But the whole thing was going on for the best part of 18 months - both of them have."

Liam Gallagher has been unfairly maligned. Barely a week goes by without someone having a pop at his loutish boorishness or patented Manc swagger. Only this morning, his brother Noel admitted "I hadn't had enough of Oasis, I'd had enough of Liam" – a sentiment possibly shared by millions who bought Oasis' era-defining Definitely Maybe but who have yet to be tempted by Beady Eye. Meanwhile, news of Noel's imminent solo album, High Flying Birds, seems to have sent Twitter into something approaching meltdown, suggesting a forthcoming battle between the Gallaghers for the nation's hearts may be a bigger ruckus than the one where Noel attacked Liam with a cricket bat, or the one where Liam precipitated Noel's exit from Oasis by attacking him with a guitar.
Is Noel really that much more interesting than Liam? It's starting to resemble the old Simon and Garfunkel situation where fans had their loyalties stretched between the one who wrote the songs, and the one who made a better job of signing them. For me, Liam makes the better rock star. Noel's live gigs to date have involved a bloke, a stool and a guitar, which admittedly may be all you need when you've written a song such as Don't Look Back in Anger (or, indeed, the lesser-known Rockin' Chair, my own personal favourite Oasis track.
But even now, to see the younger Gallagher, Liam, preening, posturing and singing his heart out in front of a packed crowd is to experience the increasingly rare thrill of primal rock'n'roll. And while Beady Eye's album may not have been a Definitely Maybe, it had its moments, some better than anything Oasis had done for donkeys.
Which is where things get interesting, because according to insiders, Noel has been stockpiling his best songs for years. Indeed, one of them, I Want to Live in a Dream in a Record Machine, dates from Oasis' sessions for Dig Out Your Soul. But seems to have mysteriously been pulled at the last minute. Both Gallaghers have long been accused of being musically conservative, but Noel is planning two solo albums (one a collaboration with Amorphous Androgynous, the former genre-busting Future Sound of London), and the mind may boggle at the prospect of his recordings with the Crouch End Festival Chorus – an orchestra founded in 1984 – or New York-based the Wired Strings, 30 musicians who have collaborated with everyone from Massive Attack to Barry White to, er, Stereophonics and the Spice Girls.
Perhaps, like Simon and Garfunkel, it's a shame such a historically important pairing can no longer work together, but then Oasis had been in decline for years. Conversely, we may just get one Gallagher you'd want to see live, and another to play at home. Or you may decide you've had enough of them, and listen to something entirely different. At a press conference in west London today (6 July) Noel Gallagher finally announced details of his forthcoming solo album, and broke his silence for the first time on Oasis' split.
To be called Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds - "The High Flying Birds are
air hostesses," he joked - the album will be released 17 October on Gallagher's own Sour Mash Records.
It was recorded in London and Los Angeles in 2010 and 2011 with co-producer Dave Sardy and a band that includes former Zutons bassist Russell Pritchard and David "Macca" McDonnell of Liverpool's The Sand Band.
Surprisingly, Gallagher also announced that an as-yet untitled companion album recorded with producers Amorphous Androgynous which will follow in 2012.
Looking trim and appearing uncharacteristically humble (he refused to compare himself to Paul McCartney at one point), the former Oasis leader arrived just before 1pm and declared, "Let battle commence".
Here are ten things we learned from an audience with "The Chief"
1. Recording a solo album is less stressful than recording with Oasis...
"It's different because there are different musicians on it, and it's all my songs, and I'm singing them so I didn't have to explain to anybody how [the song] went or what it was about or what the delivery should be. The box of teabags lasted longer too."
2. High Flying Birds will appeal to Oasis fans...
"The first [album], the High Flying Birds one, people who are fans of what I do will hear echoes of Oasis in there, but there isn't a guitar solo until the sixth track. It's not very Guitar Hero...
3. "If I Had A Gun... sounds great played on an acoustic guitar. AKA... What A Life! is, for want of a better term, dance music..."
"The songs are not Oasis songs - it's not stadium rock. There's an electric kettle on there, and a double bass and a washboard. When I write a song, I'm not thinking, 'I have to do something different because of what I've done in the past'. We're all there to serve the song. The first track you're going to hear doesn't sound like anything I've done before. But that's not a conscious thing, it's just the way these songs are written. Some of these songs were demoed on the last Oasis album and I wasn't planning on leaving then, so subconsciously I wasn't thinking of doing something different."
4. The second of his two albums will be a bit more surprising...
"The other one, it's fucking far out, man. [Producers] The Amorphous Androgynous worked on a remix for the last Oasis record and managed to stretch 23 minutes out of one song. The album's got 18 tracks on it. Some of it's Vaudeville, some of it's actual space jazz, some of it's Krautrock, some of it's soul, some of it's funk... and that's just the first song. It's the furthest out I've ever been, put it that way."
5. Noel will be going on tour the week after the album comes out - and he'll be playing Oasis songs
"Ten songs on an album would last for 46 minutes and 12 seconds, and that ain't long enough to charge people 75 quid. Not that I'll be charging 75 quid. But I'm going to be playing Oasis songs. They're my songs and I wrote them all myself and I'm proud of them, I'm proud of what they mean to other people, I'm proud of where they sit with what I've done now... Those songs are like drugs to me, and I don't think I'd ever do a gig without playing them.
"We're going to start off small in small theatres and if it's deemed good enough to get bigger than that then it'll get bigger than that. I don't think there'll be a huge great big tour this year because I've got to do stuff around the rest of the world... The first gig is Dublin in Ireland on the 23 October, and then all the usual places: Manchester, London, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Warmington-On-Sea..."
6. Liam's says he's better off without Noel, but Noel is not sure if the opposite is true...
"I'm sure he is [better off]. Am I better off? What, financially? Musically? I don't want to put a downer on it, but I've never really seen myself as a frontman, and I can see it being a major pain in the arse for me. I've done gigs for charity but in my head I was thinking, 'I'm doing someone a favour, so fuck 'em'. Now I've got to stand in the middle of the stage and that's going to be weird. He's probably better off with me; it remains to be seen whether I'm better off without him... I'd perfected that role of that guy who stood on the right and played lead guitar, did backing vocals and sang the odd acoustic track. It took me 18 years to do that and I was brilliant at it."
7. Liam's Pretty Green clothing label caused the argument that ended Oasis...
"I never had enough of Oasis. Our whole relationship was never as bad as people made out... It kind of all started to unravel when [Liam] started his clothing label. He demanded that he be allowed to advertise it in the Oasis tour programme and I was against it. I didn't think it was right to be flogging his gear to our fans, and there was a massive row about that. It went back and forward for a bit and in the end I said, 'If you want to advertise in the programme, how much [are you going to pay]?' And he couldn't get his head around that. It all went downhill from there."
8. Liam skipped the band's second 2009 V Festival appearance because of "a hangover" forcing the slot to be cancelled...
"Liam didn't turn up to the V Festival gig because he had a hangover. He claims he had laryngitis, but whatever."
9. What really happened in Paris on 28 August 2009, according Noel...
"The night in Paris, [Liam] was quite violent. It was a bit like WWE wrestling and he was Macho Man Randy Savage. I'll never forget, there's all this to-ing and fro-ing going on and I'm looking at Andy, who's sat there counting how many shoes he's got on, not saying a word. Liam was saying, 'Fuck you and fuck you' and he storms out of the dressing room. On the way, he picked up a plum and threw it across the dressing room and it smashed against the wall. Part of me wishes it did end like that, because that would have been a great headline: 'Plum Throws Plum'.
"So then he goes out the dressing room and for whatever reason he goes to his own dressing room and comes back with his guitar, wielding it like an axe. I make light of it because it's what I do but it was a real unnecessary violent act. He nearly took my face off with it. [The guitar] ended up on the floor and I put it out of its misery. There were people in the band not saying anything. We were all involved but no-one was saying anything. So I said, 'You know what, I'm out of here...' I got in the car and sat there for five minutes and said, 'Fuck it!' I regret it really, because we only had two gigs left. If I'd have gone back and done the gigs, that gig would have been dreadful because he was out of his mind, but we'd have done that gig and the next gig and we'd all have gone away and discussed what we were going to do. We may never have split up; we may just have taken a hiatus. Liam always said he would bring down Armageddon in the end."
10. Noel hasn't listened to the Beady Eye album...
"I know most of the songs anyway because they've been going around for a few years for Oasis albums. I've read a few of the reviews and it got better reviews than any of you fuckers gave to Oasis albums. You can't begin to imagine how annoying that was."

Noel Gallagher has revealed that one of the most infamous splits in rock and roll stemmed from a row about an ad in an Oasis tour programme.
The guitarist, launching his solo album, finally broke his silence about his departure from the band, explaining that it spiralled from a squabble about brother Liam's demands for a free plug for his clothing range.
Noel quit the group in 2009 after years of tension between the pair.
He said that on the night of his departure - which led to the cancellation of a headline slot at a Paris festival - Liam stormed into the dressing room wielding a guitar like "an axe".
"He nearly took my face off with it," he said.
Noel said he regretted the way the band ended, splitting with just two shows to play. He added that if the group had finished the tour and had time to reflect, "we'd never have split up".
Noel is to launch his post-Oasis career with a new album, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, on October 17, the first of two albums which have been completed. The second will follow next year.
Noel revealed that tensions had been heightened on the night of the Paris showdown because the band had been forced to cancel a headline slot at the UK's V festival because Liam had failed to show up due to "a hangover". The official cause of the cancellation was Liam suffering from laryngitis.
The climactic row in France also led to Liam throwing a plum at his brother, which splattered against the dressing room wall, shortly before they were due on stage.
"Part of me wishes it did end like that - 'plum throws plum'," said Noel.

Noel Gallagher has offered a characteristically honest assessment of his impeding solo future without younger brother Liam, admitting life as a frontman will be a tough challenge.
Speaking at today’s London press conference, where he unveiled debut solo album ‘Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds‘ and a new backing band of the same name, Gallagher was asked whether he is better off without Liam and, according to the Daily Telegraph‘s Neil McCormick’s Twitter, replied:
“Probably not. I’ve never seen myself as a frontman and can see it being a right pain in the arse.”
After outlining some regrets regarding the circumstances of Oasis‘ demise, Noel also claimed Liam will be better off without him as he is now ‘in charge’, but hinted he is not much of a fan of Beady Eye, the band formed by Liam and Noel’s ex-Oasis bandmates Gem Archer and Andy Bell. “Out of respect for the friends I’ve still got in the band, I’d rather not say – it’s alright,” he is quoted as saying.
‘Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds’ will be released on October 17th, with a second album recorded with Amorphous Androgynous due to follow next year.
So, rather than just going under his own name, the highly antipated new material by the Oasis man will be released under the moniker Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds.
The first album was recorded in London and completed in LA earlier this year - co-produced by Noel himself and David Sardy (Oasis, Wolfmother, Marilyn Manson).
Among the collaborators are the Crouch End Festival Chorus and The Wired Strings.

Noel Gallagher's second album - a currently untitled companion to the first - is the result of Noel's continued collaboration with Amorphous Androgynous and will be out in 2012.

Beady Eye are pleased to announce they will be returning to Italy later this year as part of a new European tour in October. It marks the band's return to Italy after having recently performed at the Heineken Jammin' Festival and the Saschall in Florence.

Former Oasis star Noel Gallagher is ready to lift the lid on his solo plans this coming Wednesday, when he holds a press conference in the Notting Hill area of London at 11:45am.
After The Sun newspaper first made the plans public, Live4ever chose to err on the side of caution, but now all appears to be confirmed as Gallagher prepares to move back into the limelight having stayed almost totally silent since a fight with brother Liam in Paris back in 2009 finally brought the Oasis story to a dramatic conclusion.
Details remain sketchy as to what the press conference will aim to deliver, though concrete details on album plans is likely to be high on the agenda, with potential tour dates also strongly rumoured thanks to a tweet by a credible RCA source claiming Dublin shows are imminent, while even a new track being readied for release is also whispered but so far very much unsubstantiated.
Towards the end of last year, Liam and former bandmates Gem Archer and Andy Bell became the first to officially rise from the Oasis ashes, emerging as Beady Eye and moving fast from the initial free download of ‘Bring The Light‘ in November 2010 to the release of debut album ‘Different Gear, Still Speeding‘ last February.
As Noel stayed away to concentrate on his personal life, it was left to Liam to face the media frenzy first, as journalists eagerly probed the details of the final Oasis moments, giving Gallagher Jr. free reign to offer his version of events.
Now, with Noel and his famously sharp tongue set for a return, the world will be keen to gather up the new solo details and, no doubt, his own take on those eventful months back in 2009.

Robbie Williams should know better than to raise the ire of Noel Gallagher.
On Friday night at Wembley, Robbie said: "The Rolling Stones have done two nights here. Oasis did three - Take That are here for eight on the trot. Mick Jagger can lick Gary Barlow's face. Noel Gallagher can lick my a**e."
And not for the first time in their colourful past, his old nemesis Noel has responded with a jibe.
Referring to Robbie's revelation that he has the sex drive of a 100-year-old, Noel said: "Lick his big fat Bobby-Butlins a**e? Wow! The hormone replacements must be doing the trick, eh? I'd rather suck on his man boobs." Robbie told Esquire magazine he regularly injects testosterone to treat a diagnosed hormone imbalance.
It's like pulling your pants down and asking for your bottom to be spanked in public by an opportunist verbal sparring partner like Noel.
And he's wise to get it out of the way now. The recently married Manc has a big announcement this week about his solo career - which shouldn't be dominated by someone else's antics.
Robbie doesn't need the mud-slinging any more.
It's a waste of energy and - more importantly for his baby-hungry missus Ayda - a waste of that priceless testosterone.
