Noel Gallagher More Nervous at FA Cup Draw Than Wembley Oasis Show
Noel Gallagher has said that he was more nervous drawing the FA Cup third round balls yesterday (November 28) than he was playing live with Oasis.
The guitarist drew the balls with Kasabian's Serge Pizzorno, with both drawing out their own favoured teams, Manchester City and Leicester City respectively, to play against each other.
"What where the odds on that, its unbelievable!" Gallagher said. "I am blown away by that, when I turned the ball around I nearly dropped it. I was more nervous after that then when I walked out on stage here at Wembley. The odds were astronomical."
Pizzorno said: "I was really nervous before the draw. I kept having visions that I was going to drop the bag and have to chase all the balls around the floor!"
he added: "Once I made that draw I completely lost it, I don’t remember pulling the next 10 balls out, I didn’t know what was going on. It was psychedelic."
The Leicester City vs Manchester City FA Cup game will take place on January 8 or 9.
Elton John's Tips For Oasis Come 14 Years Too Late
Sir Elton John has blasted Liam and Noel Gallagher for cancelling Oasis' U.S. tour in the 1990s - insisting the warring rock siblings were "stupid" to pass up the opportunity to crack America.
The band axed several gigs Stateside in 1996 following a string of arguments between the brothers. The siblings' ongoing feuding ended in Oasis' demise last year after Noel quit the group's line-up for good.
Sir Elton admits he was baffled by the band's decision to cut their U.S. tour short - as he's convinced the popular group could have achieved continued success Stateside.
He tells Britain's Absolute Radio, "They were enormous in Britain, they were enormous in America and they went over there and argued between themselves and cancelled the tour and they never broke America.
"You only get it once, and if you blow it, it's gone. You can't not regret that. I always thought, 'You stupid s---s. You'll never get that opportunity again.'"
And the Rocket Man praises the bands who have managed to make it big in the U.S. charts: "It's only the cream that rises to the top. It's always the ones with the best work ethic and the best material and the best attitude. You know, it's the boys from the men. Coldplay, Muse, U2, Police, all those bands. They're the men, and all the rest are boys."

No sniggering; the ex-Oasis singer's new band feels very 2010
Beady Eye, Liam Gallagher's new band, promises 'by-the-book abandon and dumb thrills, which might make people feel that bit better'.
In a week marked by economic disaster, protests across the country, and the onward grind of the cuts agenda, it apparently falls to me to deliver some good news.
No sniggering at the back, please: it involves that great cultural talisman Liam Gallagher, and his new group – or, rather, his old group minus his brother, and with a new, slightly crap name. If you haven't already heard, the quartet in question are called Beady Eye, and their first two songs are now in the public domain: a free-download A-side titled Bring The Light, and a supporting feature called Sons of the Stage, officially only available on a limited-edition 7-inch single, but now put up on YouTube, so everybody can have a listen. Despite myself, I like them both: whether accidentally or not, they seem to me to chime nicely with the abiding spirit of late 2010, but we'll come to that in a minute.
As far as the first song is concerned, the revelation hit me last Friday, when I was on my way to the first day of filming for our new Guardian series Anywhere but Westminster. No matter that the Guardian had already previewed Bring the Light to a withering response: a freshly acquired copy of Bring the Light went on the car stereo, and had me and a colleague in fits of delirious laughter. Yes, it had distinct hints of the kind of rudimentary rock'n'roll one associates with, say, Status Quo. Of course, the lyrics were somewhat less than poetic ("I see no point, what you're thinkin'/I'm goin' out, I'm takin' you drinkin'"). But what the hell: with distinct echoes of the Rolling Stones' Let's Spend the Night Together, the refreshing absence of Oasis's old wall-of-sound guitars, and Liam's standard devil-may-care vocals, we were hooked.
And that B-side! A quick history lesson, if you need it: Sons of the Stage was arguably the best song by a far-flung Mancunian band called World Of Twist, who brimmed with talent, but were crushed by the wheels of the record industry (their singer, Tony Ogden, died suddenly in 2006). The Beady Eye version is largely faithful to the original, but altogether nastier. It has one couplet in particular – "Nothing you can do, cos there is no solution/Got to get down to the noise and confusion" – perfectly suited to the younger Gallagher's belligerent mewl; and, just maybe, the current condition of the country.
I mean that, I think. In times like these, it strikes me that the ideal role for rock music should be to both embody its time, and simultaneously offer some kind of respite from it. Looking to a 38-year-old multimillionaire with his own clothes range to do that may seem utterly absurd, but what if he – and Beady Eye – can deliver? These two songs hint at the Oasis aesthetic minus the tendency to sentimentality, and with their old menace back in the foreground, which could chime with such a grim, uncertain period; at the same time, the promise is of by-the-book abandon and dumb thrills, which might make people feel that bit better. Simple!
So hats off, I say. One is reminded of a quote from Liam's estranged brother, with accidental echoes of those scenes in London yesterday: "All the people the kids look up to now are bland, faceless trainee police officers ... Liam should be given a knighthood." He shouldn't, but I hope you take the point.
Liam Gallagher and Jarvis Cocker Celebrate Primal Scream Album
Ex-Oasis star Liam Gallagher joins Jarvis Cocker and Jade Jagger at a party to mark the 20th anniversary of Primal Scream’s Screamadelica album.
The bash was held at the new Wyld hotel bar at W London, Leicester Square.
Kate Moss, Jamie Hince, and Jaime Winstone also turned up at the party while Screamadelica collaborator Andrew Weatherall, Louise X and DJ Barnzley manned the decks.
Supermodel Moss was left red-faced after bouncers at the band’s gig earlier that evening refused to let her in.
A friend told The Daily Mirror: ‘Kate was obviously mortified that she had to wait outside but she took it all in her stride.’
‘She had a bit of a moan once she got in - mainly about being stuck outside in such cold weather.’
She was later spotted at the after-party throwing shapes on the dancefloor and doing shots of booze while new husband Hince watched on.

Oh no, gone are the days when the Manchester-born brothers would have a big tear up together, and end up having a scrap with each other.
While Noel and his missus SARA enjoyed a night at the famous Groucho Club in Soho, Liam was in north London at the first ever club night for his label Pretty Green.
Both looked on good form.
Earlier in the night KASABIAN star TOM MEIGHAN played at Pretty Green's Carnaby Street store.
Before the performance Liam said: "Tom's a good mate of mine. He knows his music. I know you will all have a good time. It was about time he got a proper f****** job."

Beady Eye Group Members Discuss the New Band With Q Magazine

Liam Gallagher named the band, and that rehearsals began with Beady Eye a few weeks after Noel left with the understanding that they would leave Oasis behind for good and play only new material, originated by Gallagher, Archer and Bell, and collectively worked up into co-written group compositions.
Liam on moving on from Oasis. "It was important not to sit and dwell on the past," he explains. " We came off tour and were still on fire. If we'd said, let's do something in a few months, or next year, the flame would have burnt out or we'd have got the fear. We were buzzing."
"We're musicians," adds Andy Bell "It's what we want to do, it's how we define ourselves. We could have sat at home, but what's the point?"
Gem Archer on the irony of working with Jeff Wooton, who plays guitar in the touring line-up of Damon Albarn's Gorrilaz. "You need irony in your life, and Damon Albarn has his head screwed on using him, he's a great musician."
The band have described the new songs as "light on their feet" and a move away from the wall of sound style of Oasis. Gem said " Psychedelia is a big word, but there are definite psychedelic moments in there. But there's also anti-psychedelic, very basic songs, and a lot of rock 'n' roll piano borrowed from Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis. Sound wise The Who, The Kinks and the Stones are there, that's the stuff in our blood.
Gem on working with Steve Lillywhite, "He was a ball of energy and made us focus and work quickly. It was that vibe again of trying to create a proper debut album - and that's exactly what I think we have done. It sounds exciting."

Liam Gallagher refuses to rule out an Oasis reunion.
Ok, he hasn't exactly ruled it in but at least he's warming to the idea.
The frontman ripped chunks off brother Noel in the aftermath of the Live Forever lords' bitter 2009 break-up, and vowed Oasis would never perform again.
However, Liam - who's new band Beady Eye will be hitting the road next year - admits he's back in touch with Noel following months of traded insults.
He said: "Noel texted me just an hour ago, in fact. He made his decision and we made ours, and he knows that this is now what we're going to do.
"Do I think Oasis will reform in a few years? Give us a chance, man, no one's thinking that far ahead."
That said, Liam won't be relying on Oasis' classic back catalogue when Beady Eye - comprising Liam and ex-Oasis bandmates Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock - take the stage in March.
He told Q magazine: "We're just buzzing about this band and looking forward to the album coming out and getting out on the road.
"And there'll be no Oasis songs, either, if you were going to ask."

Noel Gallagher Lends a Hand on Miles Kane Tune "My Fantasy"
Ex-Oasis star Noel Gallagher is working on his debut solo album, collaborator Miles Kane has confirmed.
One half of The Last Shadow Puppets alongside Arctic Monkeys' Alex Turner, Kane said he has played guitar on a new track set for Gallagher's solo debut.
Noel Gallagher had told fans not to expect new material any time soon.
In September he told the BBC: "I'm moving house and my missus is nine months pregnant so I'm not doing anything until well into next year."
Miles Kane's appearance on the album was a favour after Gallagher lent vocals to a track on his forthcoming solo debut called My Fantasy, set for release next year.
Speaking to Newsbeat, Kane said: "I play guitar on one of his songs for his album.
"I was only in there for a couple of hours. I did my thing. That was in return for me going on his one."
In March, Noel Gallagher played a handful of dates, his first since Oasis split in 2009 but didn't play any new material.
Since then he's been working on songs and Miles Kane says he got in touch with Noel Gallagher first.
"I was mixing the record and I was going to do these harmonies to give it a boost - it was a bit flat," he said.
"I text him [Gallagher] saying, I need some icing on this tune and he said, 'Icing is what I do very well'.
"It's only a really subtle thing on the middle eight and the chorus of this song called My Fantasy. It's nice, I'm very honoured that he did it. It's a nice little touch."
Liam Gallagher assures us new band Beady Eye is totally, definitely absolutely nothing at all like old band Oasis. When he goes on tour next year with Andy Bell Chris Sharrock and Gem Archer it will be strictly new songs only.
Gem told Q magazine: "There will be no Oasis songs either, if you were going to ask." The six-date tour begins on March 3 in Glasgow, before London and Manchester. Glad they cleared that up.

Q - Reading the roll-call of guests on your record felt like leafing through the Christmas issue of Q magazine. There's Noel Gallagher, Super Furry Animal Gruff Rhys, the singer from The Courteneers. You must have one hell of a Rolodex.
A - Noel sings on one song, he's only doing harmonies. It's great. We met a couple of times, he asked me to play guitar on his solo record. I played on one track, so he repeated the favour. I'm very honoured.
Tome Meighan: Beady Eye's Album Is Fantastic and its not Oasis Any More
Kasabian frontman Tom Meighan has given Liam Gallagher’s new band Beady Eye his rock seal of approval.
Leicester lad Tom has had a private listen to the group’s debut album and reckons it’s going to blow fans away.
Speaking about the disc, which isn’t out until next year, Tom, 29, said of the 39-year-old: “Liam came to my room about three months ago and put it on a little stereo and you know I’m just buzzing for him.
“He’s really done something different from Oasis so I’m really pleased he’s getting out there. His album’s fantastic and its not Oasis any more, it’s Liam’s band.
“I support him all the way with that. I don’t think he cares [what people think], he just wants to make music.”
Speaking to Absolute Radio DJ Ben Jones, 33, the Kasabian rocker says his crew are feeling similarly inspired.
The gang will headline Sunday’s stage at next year’s Isle Of Wight festival and Tom is telling fans to expect the unexpected. He explained: “If people are expecting West Ryder or Underdog they’ve got another think coming because it’s nothing like the last record.
“We’re not the same band any more. We always keep changing. At the beginning of this year we went on tour to Australia and we had a few ideas.
“It all stems from Serge, he plants the seeds and this sort of giant beanstalk starts forming and then we take it in the studio and start to lay down the drums and go from there.”
Tom has promised you won’t see him on I’m A Celebrity, like Madchester legend Shaun Ryder, 48.
He added: “Shaun is amazing, just class to watch, you know.
“He’s a genius, but I could never do that to myself.”
Former Oasis Drummer Tony McCarroll has just released a book about his time in the band, which is simply called Oasis: The Truth.
Tony's notoriously acrimonious split from the band in 1995 resulted in a legal battle over payment and in his book he reveals more about that and the band's rise to fame.
But the most prominent storyline is his troubled relationship with Noel Gallagher.
"The reason I wrote the book in the first place was because of 'Noel Gallagher-isms,'" he told 6 Music. "You know, his one-liners.
"I felt it was about time that I stuck up for myself. There was a bit of bad press out there and I thought, 'right, I'm going to put my side of the story across.'"
The memoirs aren't likely to build any bridges between McCarroll and the Gallaghers - but he says he never expected that.
"I'd be absolutely shocked if there was any kind of reconciliation," he said. "It's the way Noel is. Once you've crossed him, it's hard to go back."

Liam Gallagher Joins Campaign to Keep The 100 Club Open
Former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher has backed a campaign to save a legendary music venue in central London.
The singer performed at the 100 Club in Oxford Street back in 1994 and said he wanted to play there again with his new band, Beady Eye.
The live music club, which has also been graced by The Sex Pistols, The Buzzcocks and The Clash, could be forced to close by the New Year because of spiralling overhead costs. But a campaign launched to save the cellar club has attracted a number of high-profile supporters.
In a note sent to the organisers of the Save The 100 Club, Gallagher wrote: "It's a real shame. Fancied playing there again with the mighty Beady Eye." He said the club "sorts the men from the boys" and described it as "very rock n roll".
The brief hand-written note came after Frank Black, of the recently reformed Pixies, pledged £100,000 to keep the club open.
Campaigners said they had raised £150,000 so far but needed "substantial donations" to save the venue.
Jim Piddington from Save The 100 Club said: "The pledge from Frank Black came through and I was stunned. I would like to thank him publicly. We have had lots of words of support but as much as that helps spread the word, words alone are not going to help the club survive.
"We need cold hard cash, its as simple as that. We urge people to dig deep in these very hard financial times to help save the club because when its gone, it's gone and it isn't coming back."
Two benefit nights will take place to raise money for the club, and supporters said they also hoped to have the 100 Club listed by English Heritage.
Ray Davies, who played at the club with The Kinks, said: "Simon Cowell should underwrite the money needed to save the 100 Club - that would be a real payback. The amount of money he takes out of pop music, he could put some back in."

The elite of the retail fashion industry were in attendance at the Drapers Awards this evening, celebrating its 20th anniversary at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London. Excitingly Pretty Green were crowned 'Menswear Brand of the Year'.
Liam Gallagher received the award personally and commented: "Myself, Nick (Holland) and the team are absolutely buzzing that Pretty Green has won a Drapers Award; which is a massive achievement for such a young brand".
Pretty Green were delighted to be chosen ahead of big names such as Paul Smith, Boss Orange, Polo Ralph Lauren & Tommy Hilfiger. Speaking about the achievement, Liam Gallagher commented: "A year ago I set up Pretty Green to make the kind of clothes that I wanted to wear and being recognised by Drapers today shows how far we've come. Keep the faith, beware of darkness".

Oasis's third album, 'Be Here Now', the follow up to 1995's (What's the Story) Morning Glory?, still holds the UK's record for the biggest first day sales after it sold 350,000 in 24 hours back in 1997. The Brit Rock legends, who recently split, went on to sell approx. 70 million albums world wide.

Popular British comedian Russell Brand is coming to Sirius XM Radio).
The Satellite Radio provider announced today that Russell Brand’s The Russell Brand Show will debut on Sirius XM’s Raw Dog Comedy Channel Wednesday, November 24th at 6:00 pm ET.
The Russell Brand Show will air completely uncensored. While Russell Brand’s radio show has been hugely popular in England, with his BBC Radio program regularly drawing about 400,000 listeners, this will be the first time the show will be available to American radio audiences.
The Russell Brand Show will feature Brand talking with many famous and infamous guests, including, previous Oasis front man Noel Gallagher, co-creator of The Office Stephen Merchant, cohort Matt Morgan, and James Andrew Eric Phelps and Oliver Martyn John Phelps, “Fred Weasley” and “George Weasley” of the Harry Potter films. Alan McGee Lashes Out at Fans Disappointed at New Beady Eye Track
Alan McGee has hit out at fans for posting negative reviews of Beady Eye's first song 'Bring The Light' online.
Reviews of Liam Gallagher's band's track have been posted on NME.COM since its release yesterday (November 10), with some saying they were disappointed with the debut.
McGee, who signed Oasis to his Creation label in 1993, said people should not judge the band on just one song and declared that there was little doubt that Beady Eye would prove to be a great band.
"I was on the internet this morning, everybody's judging the band on one tune," he told NME. "How can you do that? Let's hear the album."
He added: "It's a fucking free download. It's too early to fucking say. Think of the talent in that band: Gem [Archer], [Chris] Sharrock, Liam Gallagher, the best frontman there's ever fucking been! And Andy Bell, one of the best guitarists up there with [Jimmy] Page. How can that be a bad band?"
Beady Eye's debut album is expected to be released next year. 'Bring The Light' is available as a free download now.

CAST left following comment: "Liam sounds great. Its got a nice like groove going on. I like the guitar in it and the piano. It does seem a little longer than it actually is, it kinda drags on a little bit. Some non interesting lyrics in there. I dig the female vocals. Its a solid start."
TheStellasAreCold thinks : "The seeds of a decent idea are there; had they worked this idea in with a few more 'modern sounding' production touches, it may have been better. A less radio friendly hit you could not imagine (unless you were on a 'golden oldies' station perhaps?..) Verdict: John 'Liam' Lennon goes early Beatles teddy boy style. Okay I guess... "
XTRMNTRSCREAM wrote : "My dislike of the song has nothing to do with it not sounding like oasis. the song is not very good the lyrics are cliches, Liam's vocals are poor, and the song doesn't go anywhere."
THE IMPORTANCE adds: "I am extremely, extremely disappointed... Sort of depressed now. That song was so mediocre; it doesn't help that Jim Jones does it better (and even then I don't really like it that much). I hope this isn't indicative of what the album is like."
PSJ3809 thinks "I'm a huge fan of Oasis, loved dig out your soul and many Oasis b sides. But this song just sounds an average b side, it just sounds way way too close to great balls of fire."
Finally SHAKERMAKER writes: "it somehow has this fresh sound Oasis once used to have :That energy, feel good lads, street raw arrogance and absolute romance in it. Makes me feel like listening to a more mature but very fresh Fade Away, Headshrinker, Stay Young ... or something

Former Creation label boss Alan McGee says Oasis will reform "in four or five years".
Alan McGee, who founded the Creation record label and signed Oasis, says he thinks the band will get together again, despite last year's acrimonious split.
“Yeah, in about three or four or five years time, they will," he told BBC 6 Music. "I'm pretty sure."
Guitarist and chief songwriter Noel Gallagher quit Oasis last August, announcing: "People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer."
At the time, McGee called the brothers' bust-up "the worst fall-out that they've ever had".
Now, he says, "I think they'll make up".
"I mean, they’re brothers. Its like, I’ve fallen out with my sister before and we’re best mates now. Why are brothers gonna be any different?"
McGee, who semi-retired from the music industry two years ago, also revealed he had heard Noel Gallagher's heavily anticipated solo material.
“I’ve got Noel's demos," he said. "Noel's demos are absolutely amazing. Totally amazing.
"He’s got three tunes there that are as good as anything - as Live Forever or Don't Look Back In Anger.
"The reason that guy is quiet is he knows what he's got up his sleeve."
Liam Gallagher has also been recording material with his band, Beady Eye - which features former Oasis musicians Gem Archer and Andy Bell.
The band have announced they will release a single, Bring The Light, as a free download on their official website tomorrow (10 November).
McGee said he had not yet heard Liam's new songs, which were recorded with U2 producer Steve Lilywhite.

The Roll With It rocker, 38, shuns the pub to stay in on Saturday nights glued to telly's Strictly Come Dancing.
Hellraiser Liam grudgingly decided to tune in to the BBC1 show's new series when it started in September - because ex-wife Patsy Kensit, 42, is in it.
Now he is hooked and never misses seeing larger-than-life Ann, 63 - the former Tory MP whose ballroom antics have seen ratings soar.
A pal of Liam's current wife Nicole Appleton, 35, confirmed his idea of heaven on a Saturday night is ordering a takeaway then settling down for a cosy night in front of the telly - starting with an eyeful of waltzing Widdecombe.
Next up is The X Factor, followed by Piers Morgan's Life Stories.
The friend said: "Liam's wild days are behind him - he likes the TV on a Saturday night. It suits him to stay in with the missus.
Sometimes they have pals round, sometimes it's just the family, but they always watch Strictly."
Liam - who has a son Gene, nine, with Nicole - still cannot bring himself to phone up and join in the voting on the show.
But he is not the only high-profile convert to Strictly.
